Our Rouse Community Committee

| One of The New Rouse Hills community principles is a responsive governance system, as such the Rouse Hill Learning and Community Partnership (RHL&CP) has been established as a not for profit.
Various committees have been established within the RHL&CP one which is the Our Rouse Community Committee which will be assisting the RHL&CP board in its object to provide &/or facilitate the provision of services for the benefit of residents in The New Rouse Hill (TNRH) and also for the benefit of the wider community in respect to recreation, health, art, culture, employment & the environment.
The Community Committee will assist the RHL&CP Board to support new and existing community groups and organisations within The New Rouse Hill, and identify and recommend for endorsement by the RCL&CP Board, appropriate community service providers and /or activities for the community space.

Our Rouse Neighbourhood Committee (ORNC)
Implementing a Neighbourhood Watch program at The New Rouse Hill was identified as a key priority of the Community Committee. When the Resident Representative, Daniel came on board of the ORCC in June he volunteered to champion the Community Safety Initiative.
After investigating the traditional Neighbourhood Watch Model and other examples of Community Safety Initiatives, it was decided that a more flexible and informal model of encouraging community safety would be most suitable for The New Rouse Hill community, so the Our Rouse Neighbourhood Committee was formed!
As a result of Daniels strong community interest and commitment to safety, the first OurSafety Newsletter was completed and issued to residents in August, and the first resident Safety meeting was also held in August 2009.
