Home Energy Audit - Y Green

In The Hills Shire the Y Green project is making headway to reduce residents' energy consumption by tapping into the skills and enthusiasm of local young people. Y Green was launched on 6 August 2008 by the then Mayor of The Hills Shire, Councillor Sonya Phillips, who is keen to see other councils in Western Sydney follow suit.
A grassroots collaboration between TAFE NSW - Western Sydney Institute, Dusseldorp Skills Forum, The Hills Shire Council, Steplight Pty Ltd, University of Western Sydney and The New Rouse Hill is helping The Hills Shire residents to save on their energy bills by training young people to become accredited home sustainability assessors.
